Rituals of Release Art Series

Project type

Abstract Paintings

Date

2015 - Ongoing

Location

Calgary, Alberta, CANADA

Rituals of Release is an immersive art series where the sacred meets the scarred — a visceral exploration of healing through gold, texture, and abstraction.

Each piece in this collection is infused with 24K gold, not as ornamentation, but as a metaphor for resilience — the kind that glimmers through pain. Layered textures evoke the tactile nature of memory and emotion, inviting you to feel, not just see. Abstract forms unravel stories beyond language, allowing space for wonder, curiosity, and the quiet confrontation of past wounds.

This series was born from my own journey of healing. As I lay each texture and burnish each thread of gold, I ask: What if we could gild our traumas, not to hide them, but to honor the strength it took to survive them?

Rituals of Release invites you to experience your own emotions — raw, unfiltered — and perhaps release what no longer needs to be carried.
